I was randomly at the Zarrow Library today to pick up some reading material related to a book I bought recently.
They just happened to be having a class on “Recession Gardening” while I was there. So I decided, what the heck. It was interesting and I learned a lot about cow peas and why onions can be planted really early. The library provided this description of the event:
Event Description: Save money on your food bill by growing your own garden. Emily Oakley and Mike Appel of Three Springs Farm, and Sue Gray, Tulsa County OSU Extension horticulturist, will present practical tips for home vegetable gardens, organic gardening techniques and much more just in time for spring planting.
This event is for all ages.
I thought it humorous that they applied the word “Recession” to the event’s name. They’re kinda like politicians, playing on the fears people have when they hear the word. Must have worked, because the place was packed like a neighborhood full of snout houses.
They did give away free seeds, though. So that was cool. So should I plant peas, carrots, or tobacco?
Personally, I’m going to try container gardening this year. I also have a small box garden I made out of 1×12′s. Should be interesting. Might have to check out the Pearl Farmer’s Market this year, too.

Did the local paper post anything about the tea party yesterday? I’ve looked and can’t seem to find any mention of it anywhere.

I do not consider this person currently holding office to be my President. Yet.
I’ve been watching since before the elections for some kind of proof that Obama is actually qualified under our Constitution to be President.
Article 2, Section 1 of our Constitution has this to say about the qualifications of the Presidency:
No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
Obama has refused to provide irrefutable proof that he meets this requirement. Until he does so, I, like many others – including active and nonactive service members – will not consider him the Commander in Chief. This presents a Constitutional crisis like one we’ve never seen before.
Other parties are just as irresponsible for this mess for not verifying that Obama is eligible: the MSM for refusing to cover the story, the electoral college for refusing to ask for proof, Congress for any number of reasons, the supreme court for refusing to hear the multiple lawsuits appealed to their holy robes. All have failed on several levels to satisfy the Constitution and should all be held accountable.
Mr. Obama, the longer you wait to do this, the less respect you will get from me. The more lawyers you hire to avoid providing proof, the more you prove to me that you are a liar and a usurper to the highest office in my country.

Ever had to fill out a captcha form when signing up for something online?
Yesterday, I was approving this freak (Irritated Tulsan) as a friend on Facebook. (I still hate social networking sites, IT) I did think twice about being his friend… well… because of this:

hmmm…
You know, it could have said something like “puke cat” or “contractors suck” or “i love the whilrd”.. but no. It said “especially ruled” as if I am being threatened or something. Taunting me.
You realize, of course that captcha forms are randomly generated from a preset list of words, right? There is no way somebody was sending me a message… right?
IT knows I hate social networking sites, and by God, I refuse to even log in to my ancient myspace account. (In fact, I’m going to go delete it right now…) Myspace is the scourge of humanity, as far as I’m concerned. Turns full-grown adults into junior high, pubescent drama queens.
Ah heck.. all in good fun. IT, I still think you rule. especially.
I guess if you want to be my friend or whatever the heck it’s called… go ahead. Geez… next thing you know, I’ll be twittering or tweeting or whatever it is.
(Can you all tell I’ve been living under a rock for the last year?)

In light of the recent citee corruption, thought I’d turn the tables a little and make fun of some of YOU people that have called the citee over the years…. These are all (mostly) real. Most of the answers are not.

I truly hope this turns into a revolution for our country.
I will be attending this event Friday. I will be attending not only to exercise my power as a free citizen of this great nation, but also on a personal level to get myself back into the game.
I’ve been silent long enough. Inactive long enough.
I will be carrying a sign. Those of you that have read the old-school meeciteewurkor in the past will likely recognize it. Do yourself and your country a favor. Come dump some tea overboard and put a few more sparks into this Tea Party.
